  1. People often ask me, why did you call your group Got Mittens? Well, here’s the reason why...

  2. Gary was a great guy, moderator for Got Mittens, friend, collector and all round good guy. Sadly, died Feb 2019, taken far too soon. RIP mate, will raise a glass to you tonight and think about all the good natured banter we shared online.

  3. Ok, here's the script. This group is about sharing of knowledge and helping fellow buckle collectors. It is not for profiteering. @george feindel posted a Postchutz buckle here for sale for $850 whereas it was on his dealer website for $500. He was questioned about it, had the chance to explain or adjust, he did not. That really goes against the spirit of this group, it is NOT acceptable... @george feindelis no longer welcome here. Also banned from our FB group too...

  7. Nice, I'm going along .... waiting for display and educational things to happen and appear so I can fill them up with what I have to offer. ( educational) not selling.

  8. Should there be a topic / forum on here for any dodgy or fake sales that are spotted to warn everyone not to buy? Just wondering as that would be useful to us newbies who could possibly get stung by unscrupulous dealers.

  11. I think we should start threads or sub-forums for Lufty Monday, SAturday, SSunday, etc. where we can post random photos of our collection that don't deserve an own thread? My contribution for LUFTschutz monday:

  16. Everyone should have this book, it's not perfect but it's the closest we have. I was honoured to have known Peter and his son James, who were both supporters of Got Mittens. https://www.amazon.co.uk/German-Belt-Buckles-1845-1945-Enlisted/dp/0764318705

  22. Enter the information as to what the topic is about, then below, enter any information and photo's you would like to share.. and keep going in that area. just be sure you have the right sub forum for that topic, Heer, Luft, etc; when finished with that buckle, enter submit, and just do the same for the next buckle as a 'Reply to topic' for your database..

  24. I'm open to ideas on this. There is a paid plugin which creates decent photo galeries in here, so we could have a gallery for Imperials, one for Heers etc. The M4 codes, would be good to have a reference area for this sort of data, thoughts?

  25. Marc, great idea, I guess you could start a thread called XYZ Databank and post pics within that thread, it might be a good idea to also have the M4 makers list to see where you are in the process of identification..
